Tribal DDB is a worldwide network of interactive agencies, established in 2000, when the advertising company DDB integrated all its interactive-web properties under the Tribal brand. As part of their national campaign for the Telstra Corporation, Australia’s largest telecommunications and media company, their creative marketing team approached Plico about designing an origami bird. Specifically this was for use in window displays in their flagship stores in major Australian cities.

With our in-house abilities to design original origami designs we came up with a design resembling Australia’s renowned Rosella parrot. Using papers selected by the agency we manufactured dozens of the birds, each with our custom designed wire harness inserted to enable shop display personnel to easily hang them. Once completed the origami artworks were shipped to various destinations around the country in time to meet the marketing deadlines.
